Video Transcript: So how do we actually do it? How do we build these back links? There are a few different ones. Firstly you can check out directories. Directories, the reason I use directories, it’s not so much about the quality of the back link that you’re getting back to your website, it’s the fact that it’s a very automated way to build a whole bunch of back links where you can have the url as your anchor text. Some of the other strategies I’m going to show you for building back links, you’ll be building back links with the anchor text, trading systems, but that’s not natural. So we use directories to mix up the variety of the back links that we’re getting. It’s not that the directories give us amazing back links. They’re more like old man Joe back links. Directories are tons of old man Joe back links. This here might be our three hundred websites that we submit to using a service called Directory Maximizer and we’re getting all these low quality back links. Now all of those, the sum total of them might only be worth five Brad Pitt links. But it’s all about getting that link diversity. Using a service, we use, it’s called Directory Maximizer or if you want you can go through my affiliate link and I’ll get a little bit of commission. If you go to www.daveapproved.com/directorymaximizer, and submit your website to at least 300+ directories. Look for PR1, page rank 1. This is just terminology when you get in there, you don’t really need to know what it means, just select the options I’ve given you and submit it out to the directories. Vary your links that you’re sending back to your website. You’ll get an option to have different text and things like that just to mix it up because it’s all about variation. Then you can drip the submissions over time. So it’s not natural to go to sleep one night with zero links and then wake up the next day with 10,000 back links. There’s an argument that could be made that yes it is natural because you look at a press release or something like that. But for all intents and purposes it’s better to drip it out, it’s just more safe. You get that option through Directory Maximizer. What are directories? If you think of something like Dmoz, I’ll give you an example of what a directory is just so you know. Dmoz is one of the more well known ones. This is the way that the web used to work. Back in the day, I don’t know if you’ve been on the web for ages, but if you remember you’d go to something like Yahoo! and their home page would look something like this. You’d come in and you’d pick a category. I want to find out about news, so you’d click out on news. Ok, then underneath that we want find out about the weather, so we’d click onto the weather. Once we get to the weather we want to know a bout hazards and extremes. Ok, now see these websites under here, they’re all listings. So this is a directory. This is the way the web used to work before Google came along and said, rather than me giving you all of these options and you have to navigate to what you want, how about you just tell us what it is that you want and then we’ll serve up only the relevant information to you. Compare that to the way Google looks. You go there and it’s just got the bar and you hit search. It’s really smart because it only gives you what you’re interested in. What’s the point? At the moment, I don’t have any kids and I don’t have any teenagers, so really that’s irrelevant to me. So that’s the way search engines have evolved. But these websites still exist and they create good linking opportunities. I’m not going to go out there and hand submit my website to a whole bunch of these sites and that’s why we use that particular service. Directory submission is just part of the SEO pie.
