The end of the financial year is fast approaching (at least here in Australia) and it got me thinking. How do you manage your financial accounts? I find most businesses fly by the seat of their pants and never really give much thought to strategically analysing what’s working and what’s not.

Do you know where most of your income comes from? Is it from one or two of your products and services? Does 80% of your income come from 20% of your clients? Where do you make the most margin? What products are the easiest to fulfill with minimal time on your behalf?

You need to start asking and answering these sorts of questions. In short, you need to learn to focus your business.

The fact is, with online business, at any point in time there’s 101 things you could be doing but typically 2-3 things you “should be doing” – the tasks that will really get you moving!

For example, I have a coaching client who was originally trying to sell his product via 8 different channels. It was a case of spreading himself too thin!

With a little detective work we determined one of the channels brought in 80%+ of his profits. So what did we do? Focused our attention on targeting that sweet spot – “wholesale distributors”. 6 months later, his business has gone through a major growth curve!

So, take a moment and ask yourself what are the most profitable parts of your business and how can you scale those up! Just something to think about.
