Since you’re just starting out I’d start with some article marketing and blog commenting. Head to http://www.ezinearticles.com and submit 5-10 articles linking to both your homepage and to a deep link on your site. Then look for blogs in your industry and make some helpful comments (like this one) linking back to your site. Be careful not to do blog comment spam… add value!
