smart business idea

I’ve got a smart business idea for you or at the very least something to think about 🙂

One business strategy we’ve recently employed (and it’s working great) is to repackage one of our best products/services. You see, when creating a new product/service typically the biggest cost goes into the setup phase. The initial developing, acquiring equipment, creating systems, setting up infrastructure, training, etc. So, the question I asked myself is “how can I profit more from all the hard work we’ve put into this setup?”

Assuming it’s selling well and you’re getting excellent feedback, one way to do it would be to look for different ways to sell the same product. The engine behind delivering it remains the same but with some smart repackaging you can appeal to a new audience.

A perfect example of this strategy in action is what we’ve done with www.MelbourneVideoProduction.com.au vs www.MelbourneVideo.com.au. They’re both delivering video services and largely running on the same systems/teams but they’re appealing to a very different audience.

The former is targeted to the small and medium sized business owner who’s looking to get video working for them while also keeping to a budget. The latter is for the higher end of the market, for those wanting their videos to be works of art and really set themselves apart from the competition.

See how we can appeal to two very different markets with very little setup costs the second time around? That’s smart business 😉

Now, depending on where you’re at with the growth of your business, this could be a good way to expand. Obviosuly there are more things to consider but it’s food for thought. Of course, if you need a hand, just let me know and I’d be happy to line up a strategy session where we can determine if this would work for you.

And with that, here’s the news for this week!

And how about our news?

#1. We’re going to the Key Person of Influence events in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and you should too! No matter what industry you’re in, it makes sense to position yourself as the market leader (in fact, this is at the heart of my new Authority Content training). I’ve been watching the KPI guys for many months now and they’re the real deal.

Anyway, enough ranting, just book your ticket and thank me later:

#2. I was overrun with requests to be a case study for the Authority Content book! Firstly I must apologise we have been a little slow in replying to some people but I haven’t forgotten about you. Grace Ann, my PA, is lining up calls so we’ll chat soon and we can talk about the next couple of steps.

To find out more about Authority Content check out: www.melbourneseoservices.com/seo-products/seo-training-course-dvds
{sorry but the early bird promo has now run out).

#3. I’ve got a new coaching client case study for you to check out. This one is from Mike & Aimee Hamilton from Inception Websites: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfFqKG0ufT0

After watching that, ask yourself… “what if I got even 1/10th of the results they did?” Wouldn’t it be worth chatting with me to see if we’re a good fit. I’m confident I can help, you just need to put your hand up. Reply to this email saying “I’d like to find out more about coaching.”

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,

David Jenyns
