Wow! What a week in SEO! Did you see the couple of recent changes made by Google?

The biggest being that they’re now hiding 100% of the referring keywords in organic search. That means any and all referring keywords will be blocked as “Not Provided”. This is epic news and a clear play by Google to push people to Adwords (where this data is still provided). It also forces people to watch the growth in organic traffic rather than being so “keyword focused” – which might not be such a bad thing.

And then there was the Hummingbird update – this was a complete re-write of the Google algorithm. They fundamentally changed the way they view the words people type into search – seeing phrases more as questions and the intent behind those questions rather than just “keywords”. This shift has been fuelled by the way people are searching the web with “voice commands” eg. through Google voice and Siri.

More about the Hummingbird update:

Suffice to say, now more than ever you need to be working with an online marketing provider who knows what they’re doing. No more cutting corners for short term opportunity seeking – you need to be thinking long term strategy.

Our Content Contagion method is now the primary driver behind all of our SEO packages (as outlined in the SEO method 3). It has stood the test of time and continues to drive great results for our clients, giving them the best return on their marketing dollars.

Are you implementing these strategies with your own SEO campaign?

I know I’m biased but I really believe Melbourne SEO Services is the industry leader and continues to set the standard – we lead, others follow. Are you keen to work with the best? It’s time to give us a call at 1300 662 979 or email us.
