How To Create The Best Website User Experience

Your website’s usability should be a primary concern from day one. Why? Because the more engaged users are with your site, the longer they’re likely to stay. The length of time a visitor stays on your site translates to search engines that the person’s experience is a good one . This in turn can result in better site rankings, not to mention increase your chances of conversion (because your site is so helpful, the visitor might end up purchasing or contacting you). So how do you improve website user experience? Here are three easy tips:

1) Speed: Improve Your Site’s Performance

When you visit your site, how long does it take for a page to load? Do images appear quickly? If not, one simple yet effective way to improve user experience is by enhancing how well your website performs.

Instant gratification is what the internet offers and with so many options for people online, you don’t want your site to take a second longer than you have to. Do what you can to decrease the time your site takes to load, such as using caching, reducing image size (if large images aren’t necessary), and so on.

Keep in mind, if your page takes more than four seconds to load on a stable connection, you’re probably going to lose your visitor. So, now your site is loading like lightning, how easy is your site to navigate?

2) Ease: Improve Your Web Site’s Navigation

With this one, it’s best to look at things from your user’s perspective. If you were a visitor landing on your website, what would you like to see? Is it easy for to move from one section to another and find the things you want? Can your visitor get back to a previous page or get in touch with you in one click? Two clicks? Or more?

If it takes too many clicks to get to what they want, your site might be its own worst enemy. Make navigation easy for your , it doesn’t have to be complicated or fancy, just easy & quick. But how do you know if your user is having navigation problems? Thankfully, there’s this little thing called Google Analytics.

3) Learn: Use Analytics To Monitor Your Users’ Movements

So, you think visitors might be leaving your site prematurely, so you head to Google Analytics to have a look at their movements. Aside from being able to tell you how many people viewed your site, it also shows you which pages users land on, how long they stay on those pages, and where they go next. This gives you an overview of what your user is doing once on your site, which gives you a heads up on which pages are probably most engaging for them, and more importantly… which aren’t. From there, you can take the right action and watch how your visitor’s movements change with your improvements!

It’s pretty easy, eh? By just following these three easy tips, you will improve your website user experience exponentially.
